PRC's Hard To Recycle Collection comes to Quaker Valley, in partnership with the Quaker Valley Council of Governments, to provide area residents the opportunity to safely and responsibly dspose of many materials that are not often taken in curbside pick-up.
PRC’s Hard to Recycle Collection events are registration based. This allows us to control the flow of traffic into the event, ensuring an efficient and safe experience for the public and our staff and recycling partners. Tickets are available per person.
Registration is in high demand, so please only register if you are certain you can attend. If you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration via the Eventbrite link or email info@prc.org.
Please keep in mind that there are multiple participants scheduled for each timeslot. We do our very best to provide fast and efficient service. Your patience and understanding with our volunteers and staff is greatly appreciated.
Acceptable Materials & Associated Fees
While registration for this event is free, there is a $5 participation fee for all attendees that covers the unlimited disposal of the following items:
CPU (towers), laptops, mice, & keyboards * Home phones & cellphones * Tablets & UPS, Servers, routers, & modems * DVD Players, VCRs, & stereos * Microwaves * Copiers & scanners, Electronic cables * Video game consoles * Expanded Polystyrene packaging material
Please see the list below for fees that will be charged per item on the day of the event:
- All Computer Monitors (flat screen & CRT) – $20 each
- Console or Rear Projection TVs – $45 each
- Small Freon Containing Appliances (window ac units, dehumidifiers) $10 each
- Fluorescent tubes - $2 per 4 foot tube
- Tires (car/truck) - $5 without rims; $12 with rims
- Hard Drive Data Destruction Verification -1 Drive $11.00 each
- Hard Drive Data Destruction Verification -each additional drive after 1st $3 each
Procedures & Policies
- Payment is accepted via cash, debit or credit card
- Place materials to be recycled in trunk or truck bed to provide adequate service
Please remember to arrive on site 5-10 minutes prior to your allotted collection time. All participants who have a registered time slot are guaranteed the opportunity to turn over their materials. Those who are late will be processed when an open spot becomes available.
